Ćwiczenie - Concepts - Spacial Awareness (V1)
Variation 1:
This drill focuses on teaching the players about spacial awareness. Notice how the pitch is dissected into several zones demarcated by different coloured cones. The complete lines signify the four vertical zones of the pitch. The dashed lines break these greater regions into half spaces. The cones signify where players can stand/ move to when the ball is in play. For example, red players may only move to red and white (neutral) cones, while yellow players may only move to yellow and white (neutral) cones. The aim of the drill is to move the ball (through the air) from the GK into the final third scoring with a volley/ header; whilst abiding to several hidden rules. It is the task set to the team (both yellow and red players) to identify the hidden rules (which link to spacial concepts) and score as many goals as possible. If a rule is broken the team restarts the drill back with the GK.
Hidden rules are:
- Players cannot step on an opposing cone (not of their colour nor a neutral cone).
- Ball must travel only one cone's space (progress to diagonal passes only - to discouraged lateral or straight line passing) (encourage triangular possession).
- A maximum of three players (of any colour) can stand within the same vertical or horizontal line.
- Players can only move a maximum of one cone's space.
- The ball cannot become stuck (unable to move - as there are no passing options one cone's space away).
- GK cannot advance beyond the red area.
